A multitude of commercial products are available for skincare, but you can easily create your own formulations.
To tighten skin:
1 1/2 tbsp. honey
1 egg white
Beat egg white and let sit. Apply honey to face and massage in for 3 minutes. Leave on 5 minutes, then rinse with warm water. Apply egg white to face and let dry. Leave on 10 minutes and rinse.
FACE AND BODY LOTION
To moisturize skin:
1/2 cup dried chamomile or contents of 4 chamomile tea bags,
2 tbsp. honey
1/2 cup milk, cream, or buttermilk,
4 tsp. wheat germ or bran
Soak chamomile in milk or cream for 3 hours. Strain mixture. Add honey and wheat germ or bran. Stir to form lotion. Apply at night. Refrigerate (will last a week).
To clean face and body:
4 tbsp. oatmeal or cornmeal
4 tbsp. plain yogurt.
Mix oatmeal or cornmeal with yogurt. Apply directly to face, then rinse. For the body, place in the square of cheesecloth and tie into a bundle for scrubbing.
To soften skin (and soothe nerves):
2 cups whole milk or
3 cups prepared
1 cup boiling water
1/2 cup dried
or 4 chamomile
Steep tea bags or loose chamomile in water for 30
minutes. Then remove tea bags or, if using loose
chamomile, strain the liquid through cheesecloth. Mix
liquid with milk and add to bathwater.
1 1/2 cups powdered milk
Tie powdered milk into the square of cheesecloth and place pouch in bathwater.
